Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of Plagum.net and the plagiarism checking, AI detection, account and related services we provide (the “Service”). By using the Service or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Plagum provides plagiarism checking and probabilistic AI-text detection. Plagiarism checking identifies similarities with available sources. AI detection estimates whether writing patterns resemble AI-generated text. These are separate analyses and should be interpreted separately.

A similarity match does not automatically establish plagiarism. An AI result does not prove authorship and does not reliably identify a specific AI model. You are responsible for reviewing reports in context before relying on them.

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure, for activity under your account and for providing information that is accurate and reasonably current. Do not use another person’s account without permission.

You keep your rights to the text, documents and other material you submit. You give Plagum only the permission reasonably needed to process the material, provide the selected analysis, generate reports and store related account history where applicable.

Submitted documents are not automatically added to the general comparison database and are not used to train AI models. A private repository is used only when that feature is explicitly activated. Documents and reports may remain in your account until you delete them or close the account. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

You must have the right or authority to submit the material you provide to the Service.

You agree not to:

• use the Service unlawfully or infringe the rights of others;
• submit material you do not have the right or authority to process;
• attempt to overload, disrupt, bypass security or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
• scrape, automate access to, reverse-engineer or resell the Service except where expressly permitted or where applicable law does not allow that restriction;
• present a Plagum report as guaranteed proof of plagiarism, AI authorship or misconduct.

Plagum may provide free access as well as one-time and fixed-period paid packages. Current allowances, quotas, package durations and prices are shown in the Service or at checkout and may be changed for future use.

One-time packages are paid once and do not renew automatically. Unused balance in a one-time package does not expire unless otherwise stated before purchase. Fixed-period packages may be offered for periods such as 30, 90 or 365 days. Quota provided for a fixed period does not roll over after that period ends.

Recurring billing is optional only where it is offered and selected by you. Turning recurring billing off stops the next renewal and does not cancel access already paid for during the current period.

Prices, currency, payment methods, package details and any renewal option are shown before purchase. Payment credentials are handled through the payment flow used at checkout; Plagum does not require you to provide full card details through support.

Refund eligibility depends on the package, whether paid quota has already been used and any mandatory consumer rights that apply. A paid package is treated as used only after a successful paid check deducts quota. Failed or technically unsuccessful checks do not count as use for this purpose.

Wholly unused packages may qualify for a voluntary refund. Nothing in these Terms limits refund, withdrawal or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited. To request help with a payment or refund, email [email protected].

Automated plagiarism and AI analysis can be incomplete or wrong. Similarity findings require context, and AI detection can produce false positives and false negatives. No Plagum result proves who wrote a text or establishes misconduct by itself.

Reports should not be the sole basis for an academic, disciplinary, employment or legal decision. To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, complete or accurate.

You keep ownership of the material you submit. Plagum retains the rights in the Service itself, including its software, website, interfaces, branding, design and other platform materials.

You may use reports generated for your account for your own lawful purposes, subject to any third-party rights in source material or other content referenced by a report.

Plagum may rely on third-party providers for hosting and infrastructure, payments, plagiarism and AI analysis, email or support functions, security, error monitoring and optional analytics. Their services may be subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

Reports may link to external sources or websites. Plagum does not control and is not responsible for third-party content available through those links.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Plagum is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from use of the Service or reliance on a report.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

You may stop using the Service and close your account. Plagum may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary because of a material breach of these Terms, suspected fraud or abuse, security concerns, unlawful activity or conduct that may harm the Service or other users.

Any question about remaining paid access or a refund after account closure or termination is handled under section 07 and any mandatory rights that apply.

We may update these Terms when the Service, packages, providers or legal requirements change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest update. Where appropriate or required, we may provide additional notice of material changes.
